What Can be Treated?

Jawline fillers can treat all manner of things, not least of all your self-confidence. Many people feel insecure about their appearance. Wanting to change the way you look is not a bad thing if it will help you to feel more comfortable in your own skin.

People who come to us often struggle with a weak or uneven jawline, jowling, wrinkles and loose skin around the neck, chin and throat.

Jawline fillers have the potential to do the following:

  • Slim down the appearance of the face
  • Contour the jawline, creating a chiselled look
  • Enhance round faces
  • Reduce imbalance in the features, improving symmetry
  • Add volume to areas affected by aging, creating a firm and youthful appearance
  • Increase the length, width or projection of the chin and jaw

How Can Jawline Fillers Benefit You?

At Harpenden, we tailor our treatments to the individual. It is important to us that we understand what you hope to get out of a jawline filler treatment, so that we can work to make it happen. We encourage you to book a consultation to discuss your desired results in an informal setting. This is also a time for you to raise any concerns and really get to know us before you make a decision.

One of the best things about jawline fillers is that they are non-surgical. The whole treatment process can be done in under an hour, fitting into your busy schedule with no need for recovery.

What Does the Treatment Involve?

After your consultation, we can set a date for you to come into the clinic for the procedure. The whole process is designed to put your comfort first. If there is anything that you are unsure about, all you need to do is ask.

As a type of dermal filler, jawline fillers involve an injection into the target area of the face. The filler that is being injected into your body is made from hyaluronic acid. This is a substance that is naturally produced in the body, but its production decreases as we age.

The theory behind dermal fillers is to utilize natural bodily processes to revitalize the skin and create definition.

Depending on your treatment plan, you may need more than one injection. Try not to worry, as you will be offered a numbing cream to decrease any minor pain that can be felt.

Results can be seen immediately and with no need for recovery, you can be released back into Hertfordshire to show off the new you.

Of course, you need to be kind to your body and there is some aftercare advice to heed. It is advised that you do not touch your face for up to six hours after treatment, that you avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours, and that you do not wear make up for 1-2 days. You should avoid intense heat and other facial treatments for up to two weeks.

Common side-effects that are experienced from jawline fillers include:

  • Minor swelling
  • Mild bruising
  • Small red marks at site of injection
  • Slight itching
  • Tenderness

In the unlikely event that these symptoms do not subside or become more severe please contact us or your GP. Paracetamol can be used to alleviate discomfort, but blood-thinning drugs like ibuprofen and aspirin should be avoided, as these may hinder recovery.

It is worth noting that jawline fillers are not a permanent solution. If you wish to maintain the results, you will require another treatment after roughly 18 months. If you are not happy with the results after your treatment, it is also possible to use enzymes to flush out modern fillers.

About Hertfordshire

Hertfordshire is a short trip away from London and is a beautiful county to visit. It is one of the ‘Home Counties’ of South-East England and has many places of both historical and architectural interest.

Near Hertford, you can find the first paper mill to open in the UK; Sele Mill, which dates back to 1488. If that isn’t interesting enough, Hertfordshire’s River Mimram was the practice site for Charles Blondin’s famous Niagara Falls tightrope walk.

Hertfordshire has been the chosen home of several royals, such as the half-brother of William the Conqueror, who built Berkhamsted Castle. Queen Elizabeth I lived in Hertford castle for a time.

Tesco, Mothercare, TK Maxx, and The National Lottery are based out of the county, and many notable people have been born there.

We are situated at: The Coach House, Pipers Ln, Harpenden, AL5 1AJ. Please drop by and say hello!
