Condition

Frown Lines

Frown lines are the indentations that develop between the eyebrows. A furrowed brow or squinting causes the skin between the eyebrows to fold or crease. The repeated action of the underlying muscles eventually leads to the lines becoming a permanent feature. Although frown lines generally appear with age, they are sometimes present in younger people.

Information on Frown Lines

As we age, collagen and elastin levels become depleted, meaning the skin loses its firmness and elasticity. Wrinkles and frown lines are more likely to develop as collagen levels steadily decrease.

Although frown lines do not cause a person pain or health problems, they are often something that people want to reduce the appearance of. Cosmetic treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections can help with this. Dermal fillers can also be used for deeper frown lines.
