Our facial features make us who we are. Some boast fuller lips, others take pride in their button noses. But no matter what your favourite feature is, over the last few years, your eyebrows have probably taken centre-stage.

If you aren’t blessed with a naturally fuller brow, you may spend your mornings filling out your eyebrows with a pencil, taking time to create that perfect arch. Finally, there is a more permanent solution.

Microblading is a cosmetic, semi-permanent tattoo technique that creates fuller-looking eyebrows. A handheld tool ending with 10-12 tiny needles creates very fine hair strokes, which blend into your real eyebrows. Unlike traditional tattooing, microblading affects only the surface of the skin. A top-up session is provided after 6-8 weeks to fill in any gaps where the pigment has not taken to the skin.

Discuss perfectly shaped eyebrows, specific to your face shape with an experienced consultant at Harpenden Skin Clinic. Together you can create a unique eyebrow style that will last for up to 18 months.

Does microblading hurt?

A Topical Numbing cream is applied to numb the area before treatment, so discomfort is kept to a minimum. Most patients report a scratching sensation which can be heard as well as felt. Please note this treatment is not suitable for someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.

Are there any side effects?

It is normal to experience some redness and mild swelling around the treated area. This is only temporary and should subside within a couple of days. Please be aware that your eyebrows will be up to 40% darker for the first 7-10 days. As the brows heal, scabs form and flake away, revealing new fuller eyebrows.

How long does microblading last?

Results should last between 9 – 12 months. Depending on how well the client retains pigment.

A top up at least once a year is needed between this timeframe.
